  1. I'm guessing you've let it sit on a guitar stand too long and the dimple is from uncured Nitrocellulose resting on the rubber-coated neck support. Maybe 20 years ago I had the same thing happen to one of my guitars. It was a sturdy stand it just had that ^%$%^ rubber thing at the top. The stand was gone in a heart beat!
  2. IMHO, I think guitars change and so does players , it may not seem to be the right guitar and then some time down the road you pick it up again and either the guitar plays better or you do, I haven't met a guitar that isn't a better player than me in a very long time. As some others have said give it some time do some tweaks to it if needed and see what happens. You might (or not) be surprised. Again IMHO
  3. thought Id share some eye candy I happened by this post, first guitar shown maybe one of the prettiest guitar I ever saw, I hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/aXy6_eYkvnQ

  6. This forum has some fine players! VEey nice!
  7. I live in a place where extreme temps and humidity change so fast you hardly notice, when I first started playing and collecting guitars ( more than 30 years ago ) I would say no way my guitar are so beautiful Im leaving them out and enjoying them but again I just wanted to play them and look at them. Thankfully I came to my senses, Just keep them in there cases when not playing them. I have to double up on all my humidity devices that I have to just keep them close to 40% Ive seen guitars here that weren't and it ugly. In the winter where I live the humidity is in the single digits most of the time. So care is necessary. Cheers.
  8. Great playing, beautiful guitar. thanks PS I dont think there's anything that sound better musically than when someone knows how to get all they can from a good acoustic guitar.
  9. Whoa, beautifully done, I was totally entertained! thanks!
  10. Really nice! this song shows how less can be so much more, Thanks!
  11. Cool, Tom! Nice piece and a super guitar.
  12. The look on your face after the first strum told the story, Nice guitar enjoy it! Use it well! IMHO I would go with K&K !
  13. Make sure you squeeze as much water out of the sponge as you can, plus one here for the Oasis humidifiers ( my home is high in the rockies ) so i live in winters with single digits humidity and you dont want weird things to start happening to your guitar, its so important in the winter, When you humidity you should keep a gauge in your guitar to gauge the humidity, Oasis comes with one. Its not hard to keep the inside of your case between 40% and 50%. IMHO
  14. FYI, I took a look at the CME Website today ( Chicago Music Exchange ) and they came across 25 used/vintage acoustic guitars. They look to be in good condition, I think they got them from one collection, but not sure.
  15. I think it was 2500. 00 + If my eyes don't fail me.
  16. Lot of work! Is that bridge plate metal? if it is I would enjoy hearing that thing.
  17. I would take the advice on polishing your new guitars, IMHO My oldest guitar is 55 years old and I have always kept 3 guitars I dont buy sell or trade hardly ever, so I kept what I like. Ive got a bottle of ten or more years old polish almost full. I do polish the neck lightly when I change strings. This is all in MHO I use a warm damp cloth after playing and my guitars according to my jam friends well they look great all the time . Enjoy your new guitar!!!
  18. I dont know Gibson that well but I would wager Gibson makes guitars that sound good to some people and some that dont, just like every other builder. Everyone has there own personal overall tastes, its matching the right guitar to the right person. IMHO
  19. I dont know Gibsons that well but it doesn't look like BRW to me, as stated it looks more in line with IRW. The laminated question I cant answer.
