  1. I too often put "guitar strap" on my straps so I can remember what they are used for.
  2. Got to be one of the prettiest J200 ever!
  3. I got a beater like this at a pawn shop for 850 but alas not a D45 and mine I think is FUBAR
  4. I just leave mine on the stand ready for action. Humidity here in Cali is 30% and the guitar is a dry old hummingbird. What is optimum?
  5. How about a '64 bird with a L5 fretboard and inlays? Wacky but cool so anything is possible!
  6. Hey Dave F is that the new "Duck" model?
  7. That's funny I have a trove of picks new and old but I always dig through them to find that old grey Dunlop pick.
  8. I haven't had anything that new since my baby boy (now 30 years old) Now put some wear on that beauty!
  9. Did anyone catch the Country Music Awards last night. Luke Combs did team up with Ford and Gibson for guitars for vets. But the one thing I noticed there was not a acoustic guitar brand that wasn't a Gibson all night! Tons of all flavors and even Taylor Swift played a Gibson instead of her usual Taylor. A couple Teles and Sho=Bud slides but the rest were all product placement Gibby!
  10. "I used to play this song with my dad when I was growing up. Was able to record this video with my grandpa's old Gibson SJ that he gave to my dad before he passed away. Shot this on the outskirts of my hometown." Love this girl and not sure if I posted this before.. but worth a second look. Happy Labor Day I'm off on a huntin' trip with my boys, dead deer, BBQ dove and guitars around the campfire. I am so needing this right now.
  11. I got hosed (no pun intended) every time I dealt with Guitar Center find a real guitar store and repair shop like Norm's (if that's even still possible) you'll be much better off. Norm seems to be having a hard time like all of us. https://www.tmz.com/2020/08/17/normans-rare-guitars-danger-closing-documentary-post-malone-machine-gun-kelly-slash/
  12. Thanks for that Jinder I especially liked Gods Hobby but if you need a graphic artist for your next cover though give me a ring up.
  13. We all should be so lucky to go out like that...
  14. Traded my creamy white Les Paul Custom for my 'Bird and some cash at Norman's but currently I have two electric favs. My partscaster I built myself (think SRV or Mayer's black one) Custom shop neck and pickups. Notice the Cobra snake strap I made! and my Korean Wolf LP I bought brand new for (wait for it) $139.00!! So beautiful and set up in LA by the importer a 10 pound beast that plays like butter and looks like a dream! I use both when I jam with the boys but the 'bird gets the most attention on the couch or patio.
  15. So sorry about the breakup. I know what that's about my wife said if I bought another guitar she would leave me. Boy, I miss her sometimes!
  16. Just got back from Montana on vacation and for grins went by the Bozeman shop. Shut up tighter than a nuns panties. Last year when I went by and the closest I got to a tour was bending some girls ear who was on break smoking a cig out by the dumpster. (She let me sniff her sawdust apron!) But really 2700??? I laughed at my buddy when he came back from a George Strait concert with this for a grand.
  17. Love me some "Nutshell" from this show my go to campfire song. Sure like Jerry's jumbo Guild as well! thanks for this Juan.
  18. I tend to agree with Mr. McCoy as I was never much of a Martin fan. My uncle's name was Bob Martin and he had a dusty old Martin he could not play. I did kick myself for not snagging it after he passed away. Triple 0 something if I remember. I think my cousin traded it for blow just like David Crosby's pre war.
  19. I find these days I don't have the range and power I once had playing rock tunes in bars on Friday and Saturday nights and practicing a couple more nights in the week too. Just remember your voice is a muscle and if you don't flex it it gets saggy. (Oh, how I used to hit those Axle Rose notes back in the day) As time started catching up to this old rocker I found that a little restraint, concentrating on adding a little vibrato and not pushing myself to hard trying for the high notes I sounded a whole lot better. And no matter what That Biker Feller says a quart of jack daniels and a carton of Marlboros you too can sound just like Bruce! (Did anybody catch the Western Star TV doc? Awsome!)
  20. Oh brother what a sucker. I too pulled the trigger and ordered one. I called it my father's day present and the missus was not at all amused. But life is short etc...Heading to Montana soon for hunting, fishing and campfire serenades so I hope it arrives in time.
  21. Bad things come in threes, Kid, so you should be good. I was thinking (there I go working without tools again) "I don't want some sticky thing gunking up the back of my 'Bird but than I looked at the attachment process. Ah, said I, magnets! I actually use nobelium magnets to attach the battery inside my guitar instead of Velcro for my on my Semore Duncan Mag Mic pickup. Let me know how it plays out as I am thinking this would be a great camp fire amp and would blow my friends minds as I am getting effects out of a "unplugged" guitar. Oh and hey Jedzep, Django did it with 2 fingers and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth! Don't try that at home kids.
  22. Plus Jen's SLR camera uses an external mic for only the finest in audio and video quality. Sorry Jen :) Love you honey As an old sound guy on porno shoots I know a thing or two about getting decent sound in less than ideal locations. ( I wrote and directed "Ravaging Ron and the Plight of Virtue" starring Ron Jeremy and Angelica Sin if you are so inclined to look into this type of "art" film)
