  1. This is just a rant.... I'd love to see an Epiphone version of DG-335, since the Gibson one is too expensive for us mortals.
  2. Hey everyone! I’m new to the forum here, and I just picked up a 1998 Gibson ES-335 63 RI Historic Made in Nashville. It’s a natural finish with dark mahogany neck and full fretboard inlays. I was wondering if anyone had any information on these guitars? I can’t really seem to find too much about them, and do t see any for sale online that contain worth while information. What I do know is that these were built in Nashville, I think from 98-01 by the custom shop historic team, but other than that, I don’t know much about it. I’m curious as to how many were made, finding out if these were definitely CS Historic, and what the potential value is? It’s a beautiful guitar. Great resonance and a fat full tone. Any information and help is much appreciated! Thanks I’m advanced!
  3. Has anyone ever played an ES-XXX with the strap button on the upper bout instead of the back of the body?
  4. Hi everyone! I'm going to purchase a second-hand ES 335, so I went try some and I came across this curious circumstance: this guitar is sold as '99 ES 335, the internal label is yellow with handwritten serial and model, BUT it's not stated anywhere that it's a "335" (only "ESDT"). I made some search on the web but not found any information about this marking or 'incomplete' labelling. Could someone explain it please? Wondering if it could be a (excellent) fake. Thank you all, Maurizio
  5. Hi everybody, I'm trying to get some information on 335's neck profiles. Planing to buy a used one and I prefer fat, 50's necks. I see lots of 335's with 60's slim taper necks, which I'd rather avoid. Thanks!!
  6. I just acquired my first Gibson ES-335, and it's an awesome beast. The position indicator dots on the side of the neck are coloured to match the body colour - neck and body binding is black. I can't find examples of this online, is this unusual? The serial # puts it at early 2016. Thanks!
  7. Thinking about buying this, but I have a few questions. Don't those parts look like chrome? And the finish is very shiny? Maybe I am just used to the Memphis VOS treatment (used to own one), but to me something looks a tiny bit off. Also does the finish on the back of the neck near the heel look odd?
