Hi, I stumbled upon a second hand SG Standard for a bargain price but the owner isn't giving much info and a few things look a bit different from other standards so I was wondering if anyone knows the year it could be build or if something is not right about this guitar. First thing I notice is that there's inlay on the first fret. Second thing there seem to be less screws in the Pickguard then there should be.
Just a player and a fan who started playing about 35 years late...better late than never, right? Started on a Strat, tried some Tele's but always wanted a Gibson. Now I've purchased my first - a 2013 SG Standard Vintage White w/ small pg in excellent condition. Can't wait until it arrives! AC/DC will be in order! Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and I look forward to learning a lot more about guitars on here and having fun doing it. Thanks, all 🤘
I'm planning on getting my first SG, and I found these 2 guitars online that fit my price range, but I'm just not sure about the legitimacy or problems. I'm completely new to SGs and have little to no knowledge about them, and I would like to know if these 2 guitars are legitimate or fake, if they have any problems that I should be aware of, or if they're worth the price at which the sellers are selling them for. I'm especially skeptical about the second guitar (the one on ebay) as it doesn't have the normal covered pickups the regular SG standards have (the sellers they got replaced), has a repaired crack on the neck and also the serial engraving just looks a bit sketchy. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
