Sweet! I used to have the same thing in cherry...I had to sell her.:-({|=

Do you regret selling it? I sold my first SG Special (Wine Red) for this Standard and I'm glad I did. I may very well be the only person on the forum that doesn't regret selling a guitar.

I'm all about guitar pictures. I love seeing other peoples gear!

Guitarandfeather' date=' did she look like this? O:) SG Standard - HC

Mine is an original 1968 that I have had since 1969. It was a year old when I got it. Luckily I listened to a guitar tech and did not change the pickups to hummbuckers. So I have a completley original SG. Baseball bat neck but has never moved in 40 years. Lowest action of any guitar I own and sounds really amazing. Glad to have her.

They are really nice sounding pickups and you have to realize that they are 40 years old. When I got it a band had used it for 1 years and it had it's share of 60s "pirate" buckle rash but it hasn't had a scratch on it for 40 years. I paid 250 dollars Can. for it back then and I played it through my Super Reverb amp. What a combo. I rarely play it but I really do like the tone. It is like a Strat on Steriods. I also have a 335 and I really like the playing position. It puts the 12 fret a lot higher. I really don't know why I never sold it. I guess it is just my guitar and that is is.

I'm new to this forum and I'm going to start with a big request. Does anyone have a photo of a '63 SG with the Gibson Maestro Vibrola Tailpiece?? I used to have one and can't remember if it had the full pickguard going above the 6th string or not. Appreciate your help. You guys have got some beauties here.........J

First off, welcome aboard.

A '63 wouldn't have had the full pickguard. The large guard didn't appear 'til a few years later.

here is my recently aquired 63 Les Paul Custom.

this is completely original and unmodded.

i havent seen a cleaner one of these on the internet yet.

the original case is in "like new" condition and the original

strap is still in case and has never been used. still have the

hang tags and case candy too as well as the unused warranty tag.
