cjsinla Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 if you are asking about where to get the hardware to rebuild that specific Les Paul, you can start here at the Gibson store as some of the parts are kinda standard. There are a few other sites that sell stuff new as well. http://www.wdmusic.com http://www.tonepros.com I can't help you on vintage parts but I might check eBay
mikewaz Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 For LP bodies, necks and kits, check out the following website. They claim to use high-tech CNC milling for precision cutting, and they seem to offer good quality woods. buy.precisionguitarkits.com
Dannyflavin Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks :) really cool site but im more in the mindset of sites that people put up old vintage guitar bodys necks etc. such as paula's and the like
Greg Jacob Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks :) really cool site but im more in the mindset of sites that people put up old vintage guitar bodys necks etc. such as paula's and the like eBay is as good as any. You'll find Fender bodies and necks fairly commonly. Gibson, however, is usually sold as a complete guitar since the neck and body are rarely separated. Electrical problems are the easiest and cheapest to fix, so the odds of finding a bare body/neck are very low. For people that want to build a les paul from the ground up, guitarfetish sells a maple-capped les paul kit for $200. They also have mahogany SG's as well as poplar bolt-on mockingbirds
