badbluesplayer
This is my favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWLw7nozO_U I like how he almost falls over backwards a couple of times when he's really nailing it. That's concentration.
krock
Got to love SRV. I tried a while back to learn his slow chugging style riffs but gave up with it because I found it too difficult to get it the same sounding.
rocketman
I was lucky enough to see him live before he became really famous. He was the main act for a spring fest at my university. Cyndi Lauper played before him! All the teenie bop fans left after her and I managed to get about 5 feet from him for a 2 hour show. He blew my mind away. It was one of those "I quit" moments. Rocky4
Do you think he would have made it without a little help from Bowie?
rocketman
Tough to say. I guess Bowie saw him at the Montreux Jazz Festival where he was booed, but Bowie saw the true talent behind him. I think someone like Buddy Guy or Clapton would have found him, but he probably wouldn't have the same fame without the help of Bowie.

Searcy
I have to say I think the China Girl solo is one of his best. You might like this too. The Top Five Studio Guest Appearances by Stevie Ray Vaughan
jdgm
I have to say I think the China Girl solo is one of his best. You are right - his solos define that album - 'Criminal World' and 'Cat People'...SRV is why I have that record.
kaleb
That guy could play like a mother****er. The pure, raw emotion he conveyed just hits me right in the chest. There will never be another like him. I think he showed some serious integrity when he turned down the chance to tour with Bowie in support of the Let's Dance record to continue on his own path with Double Trouble. quapman
I remember the day he died. I remember hearing on the radio there was a plane crash(helicopter). And that it was still unknown if it was Stevie or Clapton who was on it when it went down. And I clearly remember thinking in a sickening way, "Don't let it be Stevie". Later in the day it came out. It was one of those,,"remember where you were when Elvis" died moments.
