ricoblues
Hi to everyone, I've a wonderful and lovely Les Paul Standard 2008 and there is, I think, a "problem" with the volume pot of both pickups. When turned the volume pot from zero to about one the volume increases near 100%, growing up what I heard is an increase of saturation ... nice when playing with my Orange Micro Terror :-) Coming from Fender, I've always used the volume of the guitar to switch from rhythmic work to solos and back. Is a normal operation for a Les Paul Standard 2008 ? I must suppose a defective pot or printed circuit board ? Thanks, Riccardo
Guest Farnsbarns
Pretty much. You could look at audio taper pots or alternative wiring.

Hi Farnsbarns, I've no great experience in the Les Paul world, thank you for the advice. I've read about kit of line taper pots & new caps (i.e. www.croxguitars.com or www.mojotone.com). Have a nice day, Riccardo
Greg Jacob
When turned the volume pot from zero to about one the volume increases near 100% Wouldn't going from zero to anything other than zero be an infinite % of volume increase?
ricoblues
Wouldn't going from zero to anything other than zero be an infinite % of volume increase? What I suppose (and I need) is a true progression from o to 100% :-)
Guest Farnsbarns
You'll never get it truly progressive but with 50s wiring and audio taper 500k pots you'll get much close. The downside is turning the volume down effects the tone.

I think I must work on her in a different way, we live to learn and improve
