How can I date a Gibson acoustic guitar that is pre 1977? There's no markings on it besides the Gibson logo on the headstock and what strikes me as a serial number, although I've never seen one like it. It reads V7712-34. It has the same pick guard as what would be on say a J-200, it's pretty small.. it's in really rough shape, I'm just trying to ID it. Curiosity and whatnot.
