kidblast Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 cool, I agree phasers are great when used properly. Thanks for the Vid Searcy, PS: Not sure what's cooler, the pedal or them sneakers... (JK)
Dub-T-123 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 That's freaking awesome! You wouldn't happen to have any info on how he did that mod would you?
manse Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Great pedal. Fantastic video. Always entertaining and informative, Searcy, if I had a hat, I would doff it in your direction!
krock Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Very informative vid as usual. Looks like a really cool pedal, and sounds great. After this demo I'm actually thinking of picking up the pigtronix because I really liked the sound
stein Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I LOVE it! especially from about the 7:15 mark. FAQ: Cool pedal Searcy! Where can I get one? Answer: You can't. Only me and one other guy can have one. Question: You seem to have a fascination with phasers. How did that start? Answer: They're green. First time I saw a Boss effect, and I saw that green, I knew it was the pedal for me. Question: Notice you say it's on nearly every recording that electric. Is that where you get that 'swampy' tone? Answer: No, that might be flood water you hear. Question: So, besides it's green and swampy, what else could you tell us about this pedal? Answer: Nothing. It's a pedal you can't have, can't get, and the guy who built it will NOT build another as long as he lives. Question: So, is this part of a series of 'stuff you can't have'? What other stuff would you include" Answer: Strat pups for STEIN. Besides the fact he has no money to pay me and he wouldn't get them for free, I don't do those. Don't even like Strats. So even when he gets money and wants me to do one, I'm gonna say no. It would problably just end up being a great sounding pup, everybody will want them, and I would end up having to make bunches.
surfpup Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I dont' think the idea of a foot sweepable phaser is gimmicky at all. I'd call it bad ***! I need one.
daveinspain Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Excellent work... Just wish you did the manual sweeping with your foot without the Pigtronics to hear the clean phasing that must sound wonderful on acoustic or clean electric....
Riffster Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 That is a super cool pedal, love the tone you get with it and without it too.

Searcy Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Dave, I have reserved 3 comments on my videos lately that complaining that I don't demo enough with clean sounds. I'll be correcting that in the future. For what it's worth the music in the back ground while I'm talking is the same pedal running clean with a little chorus and delay. It's an improved ripoff version of "Turn To Stone" that I did just to show Alfie that they idea was musical and not just gimmicky. Here is that track by itself if you want to hear. As for the question of "do I know what circuit Alfie used" in this thing. Well, I sort of do. The idea came from Steve Benford who said he once had an old Peavey amp with a built in phaser. He said if you switched the foot switch to the phaser off while it was sweeping it wouldn't actually torn the phaser effect off, it would simply stop it mid sweep. This is where the idea came from. Alfie tracked down and bought one of those amps and mixed it's circuit with an MXR Phase 90 circuit.

I have no idea what you're talking about you freak <_< Oh... and 250 new pickup covers got here last month so my new strat humbucker pickups should be ready in late summer.
