RusRob
I am curious if anyone can identify this guitar? Early 70's I think. I thought It was an LG-0 but the double binding with white has me wondering (it is bound top and back). Also has a white rosette around the sound hole... aliasphobias
That is a stumper! It looks like a dreadnaught body, so its not L anything, has a bridge like a Harmony Sovereign (with the ends cut off), checking on the sides (but can't tell about the top). I'm leaning "blender". Jon S.
Gibson J-40. That'd be my guess too.
RusRob
I think you won the prize! That does look like it. I thought it was a smaller body from the pictures but seeing the shot you posted it does look like that is what it is. Especially now that I see the bridge. Is there a good spotters guide for Gibson Acoustics either on the web or in book form?
E-minor7
From the hip I would have said J-60. Then again NO. . . Rather snappy there, ponty.
aliasphobias
I stand corrected. I did not realize Gibson used pinless bridges in the '70's. Good call ponty!
ponty
When I first saw it, I thought 'Blueridge' but then realised it had mahogany B&S. Some 70s J-50s were similar too.
