If anyone here owns a Gibson Les Paul 50s tribute humbucker, please reply cause i need your help! So im planning on buying one of these but after reading a lot (A LOT) of reviews, i just need to ask a few questions about this model. First of all, do u guys think its an overall good guitar or are there any aspects you would like to change? Second is, have you guys noticed that the paint on the back of the LP is coming off? And Finnaly, what colour should i get and does it look better with or without a pickgaurd?

Ok, my friend has one and it is chipping the black paint on back, it's a great player with a fat neck, and overall I've played a few and the one he got had nice frets and a great feel. I have the p90 from 2010 with a one piece natural back. It's turning green lol. Goldtop. I like the goldtops but I'd prolly get a honeyburst in the humbucker. Get pickup covers. Awesome. Ya gotta play em though. I think they are hit or miss overall from factory as I've played a few. Probably with a nice setup it'll be great. Keep the pickguard on.

I've heard of the paint flaking on alot of them, it's cosmetic though. Don't let it deter you if you like how it plays and sounds. Plus if it flakes, it means its played and chicks dig guitar players, not collectors.

I almost bought the same guitar but splurged and got a traditional plus.

The tributes as I understand it are limited runs, at least the originals were, but with the new deades and future tribute, I'm not sure.

By the "originals" do u mean the first runs with the plain back?
