NHTom Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Hello, I have an explorer in white that has started to yellow and check. I don't mind the color and checking, but at some point in it's life the guitar had stickers on it. I've removed the stickers and glue residue and now the areas where the stickers were are more of the pure white color than the rest of the guitar. I thought about buffing it, but with close inspection with a light, it seems that the color difference goes "deeper" than what a buff would do. Any thoughts on this? I've heard of putting them in the sun, but don't know if it will help. I'm sure it won't ever be completely even, would more like to blur the sharpness of the lines. Let me know any thoughts or suggestions, Thanks, NHTom
retrorod Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 It may be something that you will just have to live with. It seems that the 'rate of fade' will always contrast to a certain degree.

Yes, I figured there isn't much to do......was just hoping to get it to blend a bit to soften the edges. Thanks, NHTom
Dave F Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I had a pickguard on a tele with the same issue. I planned on setting it near a window so the sunlight could do it's job but I sold it before I got around to it.
