EthanBrackett Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 So... I myself am going to call this sacrilege ! but.... Has anybody ever used these things? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LP-TRAPEZOID-MOP-Guitar-Decal-Inlay-Set-/150448100358?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item230767d406 I'd love to have trapezoid inlay on my V and while I'd pay the price to have it done. I just cant right now due to financial issues, also. I'd like to look at it awhile and make sure I dig the new look before I have my guitar put into a mod shop
Riffster Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I haven't but I have been curious about them in the past. I like that dual inlay option for the 12th fret.
Jim__H Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I hit my fret boards every once in a while with lemon oil, maybe others here do the same thing. I don't imagine these will stick very well on the oiled wood. And what happens if you do a lot of string bending? Maybe these vinyl inlays are ok for temporary use but I don't think they will hold up long term. I don't think they will do any harm.
brundaddy Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Yeah ok, but they look like stickers... Eh, I bet it looks good onstage to the audience.

I had a strat I put Bruce lee stickers on the neck as fret markers. It was like a knunchuck sequence. Stuck great and a big hit with the studio engineer. Don't know about these but couldn't hurt.
crazytrain513 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Regardless of whether they work well or not, I'd have to say I'm impressed at the number of accurate reproductions they've created, including their paying respects to the likes of Tony Iommi, Angus Young, and Randy Rhoads.
Greg Jacob Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 There's only one way to find out. $20 isn't much of a risk. I would think that bending the high-E would catch the edge and peel it up. It would probably be fine for rhythm. Not for me. The Roman Numerals are the coolest, I think.
JamGuy Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I've had these on my camp acoustic for more than a year and they've stayed put. They do have a very tin protective layer on top which peeled off but this layer is micro thin and did t seem to actually be doing much with regards to the durability. Strings don't get hung up on them either. I've played this guitar a ton and they look good. I think the block inlays look a little hokey but the vine (and the snowflakes which I have on my Yamaha guitalele) look pretty sweet.
Kaiser Bill Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I'm sorry to say I did that 38 years ago with iridescent tape to an ES-335 I had. It lasted until I took it off. I thought it looked cool at the time.
