MickFromMunhall Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I thoroughly enjoyed Saturday's EC concert here in the Burgh. From the Acoustic songs to the straight ahead rockers. Anyone else go? Any thoughts? Set List: Hello Old Friend My Father's Eyes Tell the Truth Gotta Get Over Black Cat Bone Got to Get Better in a Little While Tempted (Paul Carrack from Squeeze) Badge Driftin' Blues (acoustic) Lay Down Sally (acoustic) Tears in Heaven (acoustic) Layla (acoustic) Wonderful Tonight (acoustic) How Long (Carrack from Ace) Stones in My Passway Love in Vain Crossroads Little Queen of Spades Cocaine Encore Sunshine of Your Love High Time We Went (Carrack)
cookieman15061 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 It was fantastic! Worth every penny and more. It's hard to believe the guy is 69. His playing and singing were better than ever. His band is top notch and if you missed this tour you missed something special. It was cool Eric joining the wallflowers for their final number, a great version of the Bands "The Weight". The highlight for me though was when he did "Badge". Clearly he was doing something from just about every stage of his career. Blues classics, Cream, Derek and the Dominos, solo and acoustic. Here's a vid from that night.
cookieman15061 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 It was a nice bonus having Paul Carrick on keys and vocals. "Tempted" and "How Long" are songs I used to play in bands so it was cool to hear these classic songs.

ZenKen Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 For those of you who saw the show, what guitars did he use? Any Gibbies?
cookieman15061 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 No gibbies at all. Sig strats and martins. I do believe Doyle Bramhall played one at one point but I was more focused on E.
