onewilyfool
Interesting vid.....notice the guy has a cloth wrapped around his fretboard??? I wonder if this affects the tone of his guitar???
ChrisM
Looks like the cloth is behind a capo though (capoed at 4th fret). Still I wonder why he's doing it...
BigKahune
. Killing sympathetic vibrations of the strings behind the capo - closely mic'ed studio recording can pick up those stray sounds (the higher up the capo, the more vibrations/sound), which some can hear, ruining the "cleanness" of the recording. . onewilyfool
Interesting mic setup for the vocals too......quite a distance away, one mic for the both voices......I wish I knew more about this stuff.....lol
Kaiser Bill
I thought the same thing...about killing errant strings...yet the young lady appears to have a capo in the same spot and no rag around the neck. I guess it doesn't matter if you can sing that well.
BigKahune
. The low mic appears closer to the gentleman's guitar. And some guitars have stronger sympathetic reactions. .
BluesKing777
The cloth is to dry his tears as he didn't buy that Hummingbird he had in his hands at the music shop and now he is playing with an angel with his rotten ole Guild with a really skinny neck....why,why,why didn't he get the Hum..........? He looks like he also has an extra bit of the guitar strap end going behind the rag? BluesKing777.
