daveinspain
Very sad news... I loved Winters when I was a kid, any time he was on TV I'd be glued to the set and laughing like an idiot... His Work in Mad Mad World was classic. He should have been more recognized for his talent. R I P Jonathan and thanks for the laughs...
geeterpicker
One of the funniest men in history. He could make you laugh just by walking out on the stage. His spontaneity was uncanny and he knew how to approach humor to take you to the edge without being crude or crass. If you want to laugh until you cry look at some his appearances on those Dean Martin roasts - particularly the ones of Johnny Carson, Frank Sinatra and Ronald Reagan. He had his struggles with mental illness and booze, but he never looked for pity. There are also some interviews with him where he is very candid about having certain maladies, but feels he was very fortunate in his life compared to people with real problems. RIP in peace, Jonny. Twang Gang
Loosing a lot of great entertainers this year. Winters could make you laugh until you rolled around on the floor crying. Before his TV and movie work he had some great vinyl albums just doing stand-up and they are classiscs. Will miss him.

Kaiser Bill
He was one of my faves growing up. Didn't he do a stretch in a mental facility??
Dennis G
I think the Jack Parr quote about the 25 funniest people he's ever met, something like "Here they are, Jonathon Winters" pretty much sums it up. The man was pure genious, and yes, unfortunately genious does border on, well, the border, you know? Still, he truly was one of a kind. Lots of hours of laughs thanks to him. surfpup
Even his facial expressions, Â Or even without a face at all... When I was a kid my whole family would listen to a comedy LP that my dad had of Jonathan Winters. We used to crack up.
Aster1
RIP Mr. Winters. Most of all that I heard/saw was pretty clean stuff too. Not like things now, and I still say Clean is much harder to do and still make people roll on the floor!! Â Aster

rocketman
One of my favorite movies is It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. That movie had all the greats. But Jonathan Winters was my favorite. The scene where he had to ride the little girl's bicycle and the facial expression he makes when he discovers the big "W" are priceless. He will be missed.
