So Ive been noticing reently some no namer has been giving me a red flag for basically any comment I make, which Im sure i will get one again now ... so, I DARE YOU, DOUBLE DARE YOU to come out and say who you are.

But being the lets hide behind the internet safety net Im sure you dont have the guts or the honor to reveal your say.

Anyway, just wanna say .... sod off you worm.

Carry on.

EA, I pay no attention to that -only to people who address comments to me as 'replies" .- for the exact reason you just described. There are many conflicting opinions on what vale the +\- scoring adds. I thought, when this issue came up a couple of years ago that The Administrator fixed the system so a troll could only assign one negative score a day. Suggest you find something else to worry about, until/unless you get direct, signed replies from lots of members telling you off. Or, as you so eloquently put it... To sod off.

I wouldn't worry about these people. It's quite likely they're jealous of the positive responses you typically get with your comments. You normally are pretty logical and complimentary of others. I just gave you a +1 because I'm one-hell-of-a-nice-guy...lol....as you are....... A few months back, my rating was in the 40's, then over a period of 2-3 weeks I was pushing 100. Talk about scary. Those people scare me as much as the ones who sit through 2hrs. of my music and then ask me if I have any CDs....lol..and to make it even more frightening, I'm in close-quarters with them. Likely all relatives of Norman Bates........Anyway, I figure the people who like to play hide-and-seek while they try to denigrate others can't help being "what" they are. You just stay "who" you are. [thumbup]

I just gave you a +1...lol...that negative-every-comment happened to me a while back......I invited the person to contact me privately to let me know why they were so upset with me....they never did.....You just gotta let it roll off your back. I agree with you, and understand your frustration......I'm still trying to find out who turned me in to the copyright police....lol....it takes all types. Everytime I see you getting a negative, I will give you a positive, and I hope others do too, and we can drown out the negativity. If the person feels his or her "-1's" aren't being respected, they can come out and PM you or post in the thread why they takes such offense to your comments??? I'm sure this, too, shall pass....

heh, this same thing happened to me on another forum after i wrote up some quick reviews of 2 iPad mics. After I picked which one i liked the best i got some negatives. i guess someone felt really strongly about the mic i returned

Hey EA!

Don't worry about it - it has to be someone playing games - as far as I recall, you have never had a bad word for anybody, and show nothing but enthusiasm for guitars and Gibsons.

It is just people being people...I have this nice area outside at home I like to sit in - I spent a bit on it about 15 years ago and it has all turned out nice to have a bit of lunch/strum a few tunes now and again:

So the guy next door made a huge effort to put his pool filter and other pool machinery right next to the fence near my outdoor area - he would have had to extend all the pipes right across his back yard to reach????

Just people being people, but the area is noisy now and not much good for a quiet strum.

Ha Ha! Blue Meanie!

I posted the pics because some people just don't like anything looking nice or others having fun, as EA has just seen. I have found out that a lot of people don't like you trying to achieve something like music/guitar playing, especially if they have tried and failed....the guy next door has an old guitar by the window but I have never heard a note.

The area I live in is great and the people on all the other sides are pretty nice, other wise I would move along.

That's life/people.

Don't let it bring you down... Smile Fierce !!!

Funny how people on the internet think they're invisible... they're not. I know a couple of people that can - well never mind...

EA I think it may be Bob Taylor! He sometimes goes on sniper missions from AGF HQ. But seriously this red mark crap shouldn't even exist. Get rid of the option I say. I've noticed a couple of very good posters getting a red mark for the most innocuous comments recently....even for a performance video..that's just rude.

Didn't even know you can do that.

I read the forum on my phone these days. You can neither give the +/-1, nor see whether you or anyone else has received it using the reader. I consider thiat to be a feature.

Boys, thanks a lot for your support. But have to admit the morning after that Im pretty embarrased for starting this thread, but that can be the reaction straight after a Skid Row gig and too many Jager shots ...

Everyone's getting a green lantern and a bit of group hug.

All's quiet on the eastern front again ....

I gave you two +1's in a single thread (this one). Hope it helps. You're A-OK in my book, EA.

Mark,

Whenever I see one of the regular posters here flagged for no apparent reason, I automatically offset it by giving them a "plus". Red flags should be reserved for inappropriate or uncalled-for personal attacks that do nothing to advance the mutual interests of our little community,or for totally off-topic posts that are intentionally provocative in a negative way. That doesn't include wily's sometimes pithy observations on the world at large.

I noticed someone flagging you recently for totally innocuous comments. Some people are pretty small-minded.

Even when I disagree with someone, I would very rarely flag anything. We all have a right to freely express our opinions, and to give a thumbs up or thumbs down, but I generally see most people here making positive contributions.

Hell, I even give retrorod a thumbs-up from time to time......... [biggrin]

That's just plain inconsiderate: "I know this machinery is going to make noise, so I'll move it as far away as I can get it from my house, and I don't care what it does to my neighbor's peace and quiet".

Unfortunately, that's a pretty common thing. Whether we like it or not, most of us in the modern world live in such close proximity to our neighbors that we need to consider the impact of what we do on the quality of life of those around us. It's just part of the "social compact".

Thanks Nick.

It is all above board and really the noise is not that loud, but constant, but it was put there on purpose to ruin my spot. If I have my stereo on, It can drown out the filter noise, but that is not the point - point being someone purposely putting machinery next to an obvious outdoor living area to make some vindictive point, like the red flaggers generally.

But there is a thing called Karma and for one, if I win the Lottery $40 million this week, I shall donate my house to the worst heavy metal band in the area, or perhaps the outlaw biker gang....all just within the law as well.

If I don't win the lottery, I shall buy an extended 9 hour cd of Barry Manilow and play that over and over while the neighbours are using their new pool/outdoor living area - I could leave Barry M running on the cd while I go out......

An I also don't get the red/green flag thingy on my iPad - must be a Flash thing.

I never even notice those things.

They didn't used to be there and I don't give a crap anyhow.

I give you a big thumbs up.
