1964 Gibson Firebird III Reverse V

 

Just another gem in this collection ... I plugged it in today, and was amazed it was still fairly in tune after 33 years in storage! Cool sounding guitar :D

That's a Firebird V, not a III.

Ahh, thanks for that clarification. I assumed it was a III due to a receipt from 1978 inside the case.

V's had the long style Maestro (with cover), and the trapezoid fingerboard markers.

 

III's had the short Maestro (without cover), and dot markers.

This is one guitar in a collection of 34 which I am cataloging for a friend. My friend's brother was the original owner of this collection, and he passed away in 1980. The collection has been sitting in climate controlled storage since, and has just recently been brought out to catalog, and eventually go up for sale.
