flatbaroque Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 An imperfect version of a simple but powerful song. Written when he knew he was on his way out. Nothing special guitar wise except a really nice G to G maj 7 progression with the fingering of the latter chord being 300032. If you haven't heard the song before, hope you like it. Cheers
blindboygrunt Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 nice one FB. immaculate song choice as usual ... zevons a great lyricist , sad circumstances for that one. enjoy every sadnwich eh ?
BluesKing777 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Excellent, FB! You must be glad to find that Gibson? Growing on you.... And yes, BBG, we need to do what we feel like doing today, not tomorrow. BluesKing777.
EuroAussie Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Yes, great choice indeed and well delivered ,with feeling. Show very well the LG-2 can hold its own as a strummer in addition to being a killer pickin' box, good stuff !
zombywoof Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Nice and its good to see somebody covering Zevon. I have been a big Zevon fan since the first LP came out - the Raymond Chandler of songwriting. My favorite Zevon moment was seeing him do a quick solo performance during a radio interview at the Edgar Allen Poe House on a Halloween afternoon. We miss you Warren and I am enjoying every sandwich.
flatbaroque Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 Thanks fellers.Yea it's good song BBG and EA. Quite straightforward lyrically compared to some of his others...but obviously the real deal in what it was saying. BK..i'm enjoying this guitar a lot..very responsive and comfortable to play.Im not a great describer of guitar tones...but it feels very open and airy - if that makes any sense. Zomby..that would have something to see him perform in that environment...i suppose he must have dashed off a "werewolves" for Halloween at EA Poe's house!
