albertjohn
Had an almighty row with Mrs AJ over the price of some flights to Portugal in the summer. The flights cost the same as an SWD 12er or an Advanced Jumbo. The red mist descended.....................not unlike this in fact.............. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UN3C22ga-Z4

onewilyfool
Albert John....see if the wife would be willing to trade that trip to Portugal, for a nice drive in the country in a rented '58 MG. Then you can get your guitar and she will be happy too!!!

Then you can get your guitar and she will be happy too!!! AJ could quote you on that! Ok she's a bit younger than a 58, and she's German, but she is open and has sat in the garage for two years! Days rent £TBA with AA membership!
gearbasher
Just remember, if you can the trip and buy the guitar, she'll end up with it in the settlement, anyhow. Enjoy Portugal. Send us a postcard.
LPDEN
Unless she gets her trip, there is no compromise. So indeed, enjoy the trip!
Thermionik
. . Butch Chartered - as the Sundance Kid said up above - hire the Kraut air-cooled off him (with AA membership.....) drive the missus to the Algarve and use the money saved to assuage your GAS. And you KNOW you are a bad boy, you don't have to ask. :)
L5Larry
This story sounds a lot like how I got my L-5. The (previous) wife said I could get the L-5 if I put a new roof on the house. Well it ended up costing me double, but I got my L-5 that will last me forever appreciating in value, and that roof she got will need replacing in another few years. Come to think of it, the current wife wants a new roof on this house, hmmmmmmmmmm...

Problem is we are a party of 6 between the ages of 46 and 4, so The Algarve is too far. One thing I do know is that I'm never going to be wealthy enough to afford a divorce. Johnt
One thing I do know is that I'm never going to be wealthy enough to afford a divorce. It's never a cheap thing to do mate but sometimes one has to do what one's heart says. Still paying for mine! Think it was 12 years ago!
Thermionik
. . Don't even think about it, Butch - I've had two. Both cost me a shed-load at the time and I have never recovered financially. Plus I lost my BSA Goldstar in the second one, and my J-185 in the first. So stick with it - heck, take up smoking again if it helps, it'd STILL be cheaper than divorce.....
