BobF_
Anybody know how to remove the saddle retaining wire without horking it up? 1999 '57 BB RI I got it off once a Long Time Ago and horked it up in the process. I eventually got it straightened back to original shape and got it reinstalled, but I would prefer to skip the horking/fixing step next time around. Maybe I should just order a dozen (lifetime supply) and use new ones each time.
L5Larry
Maybe I should just order a dozen (lifetime supply) That's what I did! Anyway, I use the point of an Exacto knife blade to gently pry the ends out, while carefully working the wire over the adjusting screws.
BobF_
So I just need a little more finesse? Maybe put the tire changing tools away? :)
Guest Farnsbarns
Tuck a tiny screwdriver under the wire just above the pin hole it goes into and gently twist, it'll pop off easily. Far more of a bugger to get back in. I had to remove Flight959's when doing a setup tweak recently coz I had to reverse a saddle. Easy enough to get off, several minutes to put back.
