CaptainNemo68
Does anyone else use size 12 jazz strings with a Les Paul? I am thinking of switching from 11s to 12s, but I am concerned about the amount of stress the strings would put on the bridge, neck, truss rod, and tuning pegs. I tune in standard E. milod
There's no reason why not, really, although you may need - probably will need - a setup for them... OTOH, that also would depend on what heavy gauge strings. Some string sets have some wide variations in tension and some heavier strings actually would put the same or less tension than a gauge lighter. Also if you're going to flats from roundwound, expect a very different feel. m
L5Larry
I use 12-52 LaBella "EL-BH" nickel plated roundwounds on my ES-345. A complete setup (possibly including nut slot filing) MAY be needed, but your LP will be fine.
