You won't believe and can't guess which.

I'm still too much in a state of diamond-trance to talk about it.

But it sure is a Gibson. . . .

Don't hesitate to place your bet ladies and gents.

Diamonds and the trance are a clue, right? I like PM's reasoning on the basis of the latter item, but I'm thinking something with bling or star associations. Liam Gallagher's smashed J200. Or an Elvis Costello Century of Progressive Toilet Seats. Or a Nick Lucas and you're fixated on the frets from 7 upwards. Or that diamond-encrusted thing a bit like an LC that JT once showed us.

No embedded code in diamond (tho I see why you'ld think so) - apart from the fact it just shines here.

Won't give the answer yet - still caught, , , entwined in lOooVEmaKING.

Btw - You might be surpised and say I'm nerdious, , , well I am. . .

A blues King L-00.... think we may have had another clue. Although I'm now in my underpants and praying to many a false god that it's a purple 70's job I spoke of earlier. ...with a glittery speckled finish, computrerised tuners and a sticker of two naked ladies sawing down an apple tree on the back. Let it be so.....

Yes, must be right PM .... its a bit like a Dan Brown novel figuring out all the symbolism ... [biggrin]

So I was pretty close ...makes sense, dont recall any small bodies in Em7's arsenal..

Must be EA, by the time I finished praying to those false gods, I had a blonde bowl cut, I was naked under a wiry brown monk type gown and the barbed wire was starting to nip my thigh quite a bit. I fear the gangsta limp I'm going to be left with won't quite match my hair & monk-gown combo.

PM - Did I read you scatter the words purple and brown in the recent posts, , , now clues and codes no longer is foreign language. . .

EA - Actually I have a selfdrawn 12-fret made by a local luthier. Spruce top and rio rose back'n'sides, to mention 2 of the 6 woods used.

7 if you include the snakewood Waverlys.

That new darling in the next room is so sweet I have to salt down a minute. . .

Yesterday I went into town and bought a Hummingbird True Vintage.

Third time I took it from the wall since late last year and it sang to me in unique way from the very first touch.

Do I have one of these already – Yes.

But this one from May 2012 takes it all that important step further.

It's clearly weighs a tooth less and which comes across in the - for me - 2 main topics regarding Birds :

The mellow doublebass-like deep end and the overall glaze.

The guitar is freer than the '08 and it is felt down in every corner – every tune played drips with amber honey and depth.

Pleasure is enormous. . .

Regarding looks, they are almost similar. Apart from a slightly softer glide from redbrown to orangeyellow on the '08, the bursts are the same.

Same thing with everything else except both top and neck bindings.

The new ones are more aged thus yellowish and that gives the an overall warmer appearance, which is appreciated beyond limits.

Only difference is the top-binding black'n'white lines. From in to edge the '08 has

wbwbwbw

The '12 goes

bwbwbw – just as the Standard I suppose.

The original idea was to take the Bird home and spend a fortnight A/B'ing like I did with a very good Standard in January.

Peace and quiet in homely surroundings is the ideal way of really knowing what you're doin' and finding out what you rate highest about an instrument.

I didn't need a half hour to find out this is a keeper. Opposed to the January Standard, which was too smooth to beat the '08 TV, this one has it all.

I seriously don't believe I'll get closer to the dream-Bird and after a fine-nuance set-up, the guitar will be heaven.

Add to that the charismatic cali-girl case, which have been spooking inside of me for years.

I'm a very happy man and feel able to say this closes my crest for the mythological G-voice carried since the '70ties.

With this flier in the herd, a zodiac emerges in the night sky and between those points of shining acoustics lives the sound I been chasing.

Voyage is completed ~

Now the task of thinning out can begin.

Another Bird' Em 7 .... you better put them all in a cage or they will be flying like crazy around your house !

Definitely expect pics and in particular a sound sample comparing the two TV's ...

Enjoy the flight :-)
