aliasphobias
I have been (painfully) selling my Gibson acoustics as of late. I have been fortunate to acquire a very nice handful of great Gibsons. My intention was to keep only one, my '93 Hummingbird. I sold my '95 J45 Deluxe (thanks F.G.), my '95 Hummingbird, my '92 AJ and had only one left to get rid of a '91 Hummingbird. The '91 'bird had a few repairs done to it so I wanted to sell it locally. I wanted the buyer to be able to look it over and see first hand its' condition. Since local sales have been rather slow, I decided to offer it for sale or trade. Lo and behold I got an offer of a trade for a J100xtra. What an excellent instrument! I guess there would be no harm in having two guitars.

Mojorule
It looks really beautiful. The grain of the spruce is truly something to behold. I could be in love with that one. Sound samples, please!
aliasphobias
Congratulations! What year is it? Does it have mahogany b/s? Mine is bubinga b/s. [/quo Thanks J-Doug. It is a'93 serial number (centennial sticker), mahogany b&s. I had a '95 or '96 with bubinga, though not as figured as yours. It was an excellent guitar as well. I had not seen one with the (partially) filled in bridge until this one. Yes Mojo, a nice piece of spruce! I like the understated looks of the J100 jumbos. The sound clips are something I am going to educate myself about.

frenchie1281734003
Great score Alias, your J100 Xtra looks like a 94 just like mine, the 93s have the banner logo on the headstock, whilst the 94s have the centennial label. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine. You just can`t beat a really good Mahogany super jumbo! Steve.

retrorod
As stated above, two very nice-looking acoustics! Glad to hear that you made a good trade on your next to last one. That surely 'lessens the pain' of an outright sale.
MissouriPicker
Great looking duo. I'm a real fan of "the bird" and all its versions, but you can't take a thing away from the super jumbos. They're great for fingerpicking a baby's lullaby or strumming that will shatter the windows....Enjoy.
