deepblue
I have been looking for a nice acoustic for a while now ( sorry guys ) lol! I tried everything from Gibson to Martin, to Taylor and Takimine...and a few others in between. The one that really sounded the sweetest to my ear was the Alvarez Yairi Masterworks DYM95 The tone and projection of this instrument was amazing. The assembly was flawless, and its so comfortable in my hands. I wanted no electronics, I wanted pure acoustic. It was a little on the pricey side, but I didnt want particle board and glue. I know we here on the forum are rock n rollers, but its nice to sit quiet sometimes and strum out some emotion on a nice acoustic. (P.S....I DO like girls!) lol

Riffster
I thought you were getting a Guild J30... I have a Guild GAD-JF48 Jumbo and although it is made in China the craftsmanship is impecable, I looked in the $700 to $1,000 like 3 years ago and the Guild was far superior to any Martin or Taylor on that price range. No electronics either just pure acoustic. This guitar is a fantastic value and the sound has been improving gradually. The only other acoustic that has given me any GAS since is a Gibson Super Jumbo SJ-100 but at 3 times the price, no thanks. I do not play acoustic that much. deepblue
I thought you were getting a Guild J30... I looked at the Guild. I went to the guys house and checked it out. The sound was okay, but it was a little bassy for my taste. It was also going to need some fret work in the near future. The first 3 frets were a tad on the worn side. He wanted $1250 firm. It was made in the 80's so I took a pass. Fret work gets expensive very fast.
