Offered An Interestng Trade Today

So earlier today I was offered what I see as an intriguing, although not a necessarily smart, trade. A 1938 Gibson L-12 archtop for my 1946 LG-2. This kind of stuff makes my brain hurt.

Well, I imagine the L12 is very nice. But what would you do with it? Don't you mainly use your fingers? Isn't the LG2 your main guitar?

I don't think so, man. You'll miss that small bod magic. Are you just in between GAS attacks? I've put out word that I'd like to trade my D18 out for a 00 or 00018 of the same era and condition. My head hurts too.

I love an LG-2 too much to ever trade one. In fact, I keep eyeballing a 1952 LG-3 in a local shop for $1800 or so, even though I already have a great 1961 LG-3 and now a 1966 LG-1. (I'm in the minority and LOVE the smaller nut!)

You guys are usaully so good at enabling. Then again, this is absolutely the wrong place to ask anybody about anything that involves losing an LG-2. Those guitars are much beloved here. But ya'll are probably right. Maybe I just wanted somebody to grab me by the scruff of the neck and tell me what I really already knew. My little quirk is I tend to start feeling stale and start looking for something with a different sound.
