339-sized Casino in works?

Looking at the picture, it's either a 339 size body, or...Richard Akers is actually 8 feet tall. I wouldn't rule out just yet (possibly a former NBA player that Epiphone lured away) and everything would look small around him. Or maybe the pic was photoshopped and isn't in scale. Although the 339 theory does seem to have the edge...

Good article, excited to see what they bring out this year. I'm praying for a non reverse firebird!

That is definitely a. 339 sized casino, can tell by the neck size compared to the body. I'm sure it will be hugely popular as the 339's are very popular on here alone!

And the pic in the interview shows him holding some sort of Noel Gallagher Union Jack Sheraton...looks more like Noel's did rather than the supernova.

I like the idea of these scaled down hollow bodies but being 6ft 3" they look a little small on me! I'd like to try one though.

Try 6"5" mate! I know what u mean. I'm a fan of big guitars and that's not just cos of my size, that's what's put me off the 339 to be honest. If I'm getting a hollow body I want a full sized body.

Agree, the neck doesn't go deep enough into the body like a casino.

That was my first reaction too, but it is probably more difficult to set the neck deep with the smaller body. Note the parallelogram inlays and white pickguard. I wonder if it's full hollow.

I love the idea, but I'd certainly want to hear how it sounds in comparison to a casino.

I really really really want a blue burst Gary Clark Jr casino if they make some though, so it may not matter what else they put out.

:)

I did think the same also as the neck would be too wide on the small body if it went deeper into the body

Does anyone know when epi usually release details for new products?

Well, if it's for real, it's a good move, imo. I've wanted a scaled-down Casino - 339 or Midtown sized - to happen, but didn't think it would be a priority. I thought we'd see an Epi 390 before a shrunken Casino.

And since the Casino is sort of Epi's flagship model, it makes sense to start branching out on its iconic hold, beyond the obvious Beatles connection or Dwightedness. Not everyone thinks they need two Casinos, but if this scaled-down 339-sized Casino comes out, they are probably going to want it as well.

A nice evolution here (though some might argue that the guitar is 'devolving' if it's getting smaller).

I know what you mean, I'm 6' 5" and little guitars look kind of silly on me.

I'm the same height. Think that's just probably us tall folk thinking that we look daft though dont ya think? Or maybe i do look stupid after all these years thinkin i dont ha. Lucky for me I'm a semi hollow man all the way, apart from I have a soft spot for sg's!

His is missing the edge paint work that Noel's had:

If they do bring this union jack sheraton out this year it'll be frustrating they still can't get it perfect!

Yeah I noticed that. I can't see myself with a Union Jack guitar though but back in the day I'd have loved one ha.

Looking forward to seeing what new lines they bring out. Do they usually release details of new models in the summer?

Great article!

Looks to me like they're going to make the Union Jack sheraton, its on one of the pics so it may be one of the models that comes out perhaps. I remember watching the oasis Maine road gig and thinking i'd love one of them. Not something I could see myself playing live but maybe something just for the memories ha.

So it looks like a 339 Casino and a Gary Clark Jr. Signature Casino are going to be released. Anyone have any idea when Epiphone will release these?

Don't know how I missed this photo, but it definitely looks like the Casino gave birth and mother and child are doing fine.[cool]

Someone, didn't listen to their Mom! You never wash a Casino, in HOT water! It will shrink! ALWAYS use COLD water! [flapper][biggrin]

Very interesting...I wonder how much different it will sound, than the standard Casino? :-k
