Rocky4
With the bridge being straight and the serial # being painted over, what do you think of this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Les-Paul-Jr-The-real-deal-/161024422772?pt=Guitar&hash=item257dcdb374
BigKahune
My experience with the LP Jr is limited. The story given is the original owner had the guitar "freshen[ed]" up in the 70s. It doesn't make sense to reset bridge anchors just to put on a compensated bridge and refinish. As you say, you would expect the bridge anchors to give the bridge an easily seen angle. Those evenly placed bridge anchors have me thinking risky. It's also questionable that the seller adds a comment on the stock bridge replacement, but says nothing about the missing angle. cjsinla
I would bet it's a re-fin for sure, too much brown in the burst and the yellow should be brighter, inked serial number is gone. Painted black on the back? should all be brown and and wood grain should be obvious. Almost looks like a burst on the back, should be even in color. Also, missing the bumble bee capacitor so some re-soldering has been done.
