Identification check

Recommended Posts

Hi

I just bought this magnificient Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2011 in Chicago blue. I wanted to check if this particular guitar is really a Traditional and if its chambered or not. WHy I am not so sure about the real model of the guitar has several reasons:

1 Traditional is not written on the head

2 The pick guard is not installed

3 Chicago blue did not exist as colour in the program for a Traditional in 2011

4 The strings installed were 9-42 and normally on this guitar you have 10-46

The serial number is : 126310424(MADE IN USA 2011)

Model No: LPTO5K+CBCA3

Only for information I paid the guitar 1699.-€

It would be very nice of you to help me to be sure about the guitar.

In attachement you will find some photos

Best regards

Dan

Hello Dan and welcome!

That's a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus, stamped on 20th of September 2011, production number 124. These are not chambered. They are traditional weight-relieved (a.k.a. swiss-cheesed).

The model number clearly indicates LPTD - Les Paul Traditional, CB - is for Chicago Blue, CH - for Chrome Hardware. Not sure about the "SK+", though.

From the photos, everything seems to be correct.

Cheers... Bence
