kaicho8888
I posted this on other forums. I have a fairly new LP Gibson USA case(LP Standard made in Nov.2012). The top lid has the reptile cover that's come unglued on the whole part of the guitar body area. Looks OK, but if you touch it, it's like having loose skin...no glue. I will try to inject glue in the area...any idea what kind glue I could use? Thanks
Aymara
I'm not exactly sure, but special glue for leather might do a good job, though it's no real leather. I would try it out with similar material first.
vexorgtr
contact cement has been the go-to for me when making speaker cabs. It should be adequate for your need.

Thanks..., that's what I used with tolex on wood amp frames. Normally you apply it on both sides of the item, let dry, and then press them together. I'll try to use a syringe, if I can find one. I might have some 3M spray contact cement and might be able to stick a tube in the tip. That would be OK. However...not a good sign for Gibson/TKL... it's the whole top lid and it's sewn on the edges.

I opened a thread about Gibson QA, but noone wanted to believe that Gibson quality control needs approvement .... this is a further case. I also saw a LP Standard 2013, that didn't show the craftsmanship it should have for that price. Gibson once had the reputation to be the Porsche in guitar world and they are risking to loose it. Aymara
Gibson does not make the cases. But they are Gibson branded, so Gibson is reponsible for quality control! relax, its a freaking case. Thank god, mine is fine, but what Kaicho reports is annoying.
kaicho8888
OK, guys... I solved my problems quite easily. I thought the glue could be reactivated with heat and I was right! I left the case under the sun for about an hour till it got hot. Then pressed the tolex down and it stayed... it all good again.
Aymara
I left the case under the sun for about an hour ... Well, living in California has some advantages ... fantastic solution. In Germany it's a bit to cold for the season :(
