generaldreedle
What would people say are the differences, sound, materials, purpose, between an AJ and J45? At the GC store they have an AJ which is about $500 more than the J45, but they also have a J45 custom amber burst as well.
EuroAussie
Best to have a look at the specs sheet to get the long answer. (softer, dryer, woodier tone) The short answer: J-45 short scale and mahogany, AJ long scale and rosewood. (ballsy, deep projective tone)
Yorick
The AJ was nicknamed the bone crusher--it was kryptonite to another company's flagship D 28. There's aptly a lot of love for the AJ and for the 45. If you're a rosewood guy and like the little extra snap of a long scale, you are going to like the AJ. Gibson slopes are great guitars.
