New Hummingbird Pro!

Stringbreaker

Excellent timing on this topic. Just got back yesterday from three days in Branson, Mo. Saturday night I went to an "open mic" at The Branson Landing. There was a guy there who played a Hummingbird Pro. This was definitely a beast in sheep's clothing. This guitar kicked-butt, and in a big way. The guy played a Dylan song, a Cash one, and two Loving Spoonfull songs. A superb instrument. Sounded exceptionally good. I talked to the guy afterwards and got to play it a bit. Real sweet setup (the way it came). Very user-friendly. I think this guitar should have been named something else, because it's not a Hummingbird, BUT like "the bird," this guitar is its own kind of beast and deserves its own name. Ideal for fingerpicking "Darlin' Be Home Soon," but equally up-to-the-task of roaring on Cash's "Big River." In the past I've played 5-6 of them as they come-and-go at GC and I thought they sounded pretty good. But then on Saturday I got to see and hear one in the "real world." It definitely stood-out and I wasn't the only one who noticed. Congrats on a sweet guitar. I suspect you're going to love it. I know that I could easily live with a Hummingbird Pro like the one I saw on Saturday night. [thumbup]

Agreed, I have a couple of Hummingbird standards and a Hummingbird Pro. The Pro is totally different in tone in a good way, the best I can describe it is if Martin made a Gibson or vice versa.

Its a long scale with superb note separation. She really shines at being picked, not so much love for the flesh.

She records well too, if interested I will put up a sound cloud link.

Enjoy your new Pro. [thumbup]

Thanks! I'll have to wait an extra day however - the guitar was at the UPS facility in Okie City when the tornado hit, so delivery has been postponed for a day. I'll get it tomorrow instead of today. Life is cruel i guess ♫ ♪ ♫
