Stringbreaker
. . . and didn't put it down for an hour. I'll post pictures later (tonight?). It came out of the box about a half-step low, so I tuned it up and fingerpicked on it for a good hour or so. The action is a little higher than I'm used to, but not high enough to disturb the tuning. It still plays fast and lean. Intonation is spot-on. It's loud, but a bit subdued; you can hear all the notes when you fingerpick fast or go into rolls, instead of the wall of sound that comes from other guitars. It's very sweet and woody. It could be better at highs, but I think it needs better strings. The strings on it feel like 11 to 52s, so I'm gonna put on 12 to 54s (D'Addario EXP)and it should ring better. A very, very nice looking instrument and my fingers feel right at home. Only thing is it's not really a Hummingbird (as many here on the forums have stated), it's a Songwriter body with a Hummingbird name. But that's not a biggie. This is a niiiiice guitar. I'm a happy camper!

We truly would like to hear it. I'll try to set up for recording this weekend - I'm surprised how well it fingerpicks. It's even louder than my Epi EJ-200, but with less "boom" and better midrange. It's a very balanced sound, even though reviews indicated to me that this instrument was better as a strummer. I think it's a keeper - thanks Bozeman! BTW, it's a newborn - I ran the serial number, and it was number 33 off of the line on February 15, 2013. I'll keep this guitar forever.

Stringbreaker
Congratulations. I'd love to play that guitar, Im really curious if it sounds like a mahogany Songwriter ? It is a mahogany Songwriter - At the Gibson website in the specifications it states that it has a Songwriter body. So I would assume it sounds like one lol . .
