Many thanks to all those who replied to the pics I posted of my 54 GT.

I'll try and improve the quality of the pics I'm posting but there's a size limit imposed by the forum and I'm trying to stay within it.

Accordingly, I have 154.22K left to play with (so I'm told. What is this BTW and how can pics be made any bigger or clearer?) and I'll use it for a front view of the GTpost-53479-002206900 1370442512_thumb.jpg

Thanks, I'll try anything!!

It means having to download photobucket. At the minute I'm just using media player/pictures and cropping the pics to fit those limits.

All I seem to get is aggravation, lol!!

I would like to post pics of my new addition, a 63 SG, but cannot because of the limit of 500k for attachments.

Is there a way round this?

Alan

Hi again, Mr. Blackburn.

It isn't necessary to download Photobucket. It's a cost-free image-hosting site.

All you will need to do is to create an account and upload the images. From this site the images are linked and can be viewed in the Forum.

This link should take you through all the necessary steps painlessly;

http://forum.gibson....to-post-photos/

I'm also not sure where you get the 500kb limit for images. The 72dpi image below ('One I Made Earlier Today', as it happens, in the best 'Blue Peter' tradition) measures 567pixels wide x 709 pixels high giving a file size of 678kb and it's by no means the largest which can be viewed here;

Looking forward to the higher res snaps.

The 500kb limit only applies to thumbnails. The funny thing is, most of this pictures were about the same size including the one that was blurry. The obvious solution is the photobucket account but he still could post one clear thumbnail if he deletes the others.

The guy on ebay promised me it was from a bottle of Grolsch drunk by Les Paul in late '51 whilst designing the LP.

Yup, that looks good indeed, very nice and as old as me but the gold neck is unusual and from here looks a bit refinished. Surely there would be some wear? Some people may still question the headstock and serial number.

I really would like to hear - what's the provenance of this guitar, the story behind your getting it and what do you value it at?

Many thanks to all who have replied.

I can fully understand some of the lingering scepticism, so I'll post some better pics of the 54 GT over the next few days for your perusal.

And, it has to be said, my delight at owning, being able to play and showing off, such a wonderful instrument. msp_rolleyes.gifmsp_rolleyes.gifmsp_thumbup.gif
