My big list of favorite bands that I HAVE to see live is smaller today.

Got to see Social Distortion last night at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. Love it when a band plays that many songs and you know the words to all of them.

ahhhhhhhh............some very COOL Gibson's sounding great for sure!!!

I can't tell how many times I've seen or even played on the same bill as them.

House parties, Cuckoo's Nest, Cathay de Grande...and much more.

What I can say for sure is Mike Ness is the most humble, class guy I've met in my gigging days.

It's great to see a local artist continue making his art for over 30 years.

The first time I heard "Ball and Chain" I was a made a die-hard fan of Social Distortion. Mike Ness is one of the most brilliant lyricists alive today and his writing style reminds me very much of another one of my favourite poet/songwriters-Jim Carrol-who is best known for his catchy "People That Died".Another thing about S.D.that draws me to them is that as soon as you hear the intro to a new song, you can immediately tell that it's them because they have such a unique raw sound that when combined with his brilliant lyrics, grabs hold of you and doesn't let you go until it's over. There aren't many acts around today that have the edgy lyrics and sound that comes close to that of Mike Ness and company,in fact the only ones I can think of who can come close is Jim Carrol and The Jim Carrol Band.
