Matters
Hey everyone, I had my tonsils out a day ago and thought I would post up a couple quick demos of my Gibsons. I'm a bit loopy on meds so these are far from perfect and I will still be doing a full review with better demos in the future. Hope you enjoy. Motherofpearl
Thanks. Both sound great. That AJ sure has alot of presence.
J-1854Me
Nice! Don't think the tonsils made much difference. I think I like the SCSJ a bit better, a little warmer and bigger 'range' if that make sense. Fred
EuroAussie
Both sound really good man, but I really love the tone of the Shazza SJ, really thick tones, the bass is amazing. Would love to take Sheryl for a ride sometime.

Matters
Thanks for the compliments. The AJ is long scale. Matt
blindboygrunt
A mahogany aj ? These things confuse me . that's a j45 then :-/ Or a southern jumbo ? :-/
Matters
A mahogany aj ? These things confuse me . that's a j45 then :-/ Or a southern jumbo ? :-/ Nope, neither. An AJ is long scale and I believe there is a difference in bracing. Matt

Gruffchris
Hey, 2 great sounding guitars ;). I think from the videos, that the SC model has the type of tone I go for. There's one in my local music shop that doesn't sound half as good as yours, maybe it's the player too though, lol.
Matters
What strings and gage are you using on the Shazza SJ Matt .. ? Both guitars have medium gauge Martin Monels on them. Matt
Faron
Great demo's, thanks for posting them. Personally, I think the examples really show how the SC SJ is a fine intimate type of guitar for singer-songwriters and up close personal type recordings. The AJ shines in a band environment. It's clear, articulate and rises above the the bass and drums (as does a J-200). Both are fine guitars!
JuanCarlosVejar
man I didn't get all the buzz about the Sheryl SJ because the video that Music Villa uploaded didn't really show anything that impressed me but I saw it and see it clearly in your demo !!!! that guitar sounds really awesome . CAMELEYE
Thanks for that. Liked 'em both, but I'm in SCSJ capture mode right now. Maybe it'll pass. Anyway, hope you're feeling better.
MissouriPicker
I liked both of them, but for me the AJ sounds a bit better.
RichG
I had my tonsils out in 1951 and I still can't play like that! Nice demo, thanks. I think I liked the AJ a little better. My SCSJ has a thumpier bass, but could be the strings. I still have the factory strings on mine. I liked the bass of the SCSJ in the video, just sounds a bit different. Matters
I'm glad everyone likes the videos. I pretty much agree with all of the comments. I prefer the SCSJ by just a little bit. The AJ has a sitka top and is more broken in while the SJ has a ways to go before it really starts to open up. I bought it new around Christmas. Thanks again. I'm not sure yet. I'm only three days out from the surgery. Hopefully it becomes less strenuous to sing. Matt
