Five Finger Death Punch

Californiaman

Recommended Posts

I'm not going to post any of the bands videos here because many of them have content that would get them pulled by a moderator, but are there any of you who listen to Five Finger Death Punch?

I saw an episode of Counting Cars last night and the guitarist of the band, Jason Hook, had broken down on his motor cycle and Danny AKA "The Count" Koker fixed him up and got him on the road again. He also hooked him up with a cool tattoo at his tattoo parlor. So I was currious and googled Five Finger Death Punch today.

Any fans?

Gawd they're touring a tone this year, but I see only one California show in Sacramento in September.

I want to like some modern metal bands, but that just leaves me cold. Or maybe I'm just old, but it seems soooooo slick and glossy.

That said I was listening to some Red Fang whilst pumping iron in the gym today and it was pretty bas@ss. Maybe there's hope...

Not into the OP's band at all, but I dig that Red Fang vid.

Thanks again surfpup, I'll check their stuff on amazon.

Maybe there is hope for this old fart to like some newer stuff. [thumbup]

I respect them, but I'm not a fan.

Not that they're not my kind of music, but they're a little too, I dunno how to explain it. The one thing I require out of metal is for it to rattle my teeth, hit me in the gut, and kick me in the balls. Attitude. Well, they don't do that for me. Kind of generic IMHO. But I respect them, in a different way.

I listen to them, Im looking forward to their new album. "Lift me up" was a great single to release beforehand. It's not the kind of music I listen to at home but mainly at the gym when I need heavy music to keep pushing me. They're doing a tour with AX7 that I was planning on going to

Hi Stevie!

They went over huge here they played the Rock Fest twice its a huge summer event they shut down the city and about 50000 rockers merge on downtown Kansas City its mayhem. I like it when bands actually try to be popular.

its an age old concept of selling out. You know selling out your concert your CD and T Shirt. Somehow that idealism has been lost somewhere.

Hi Donny,

They sound cool imo [thumbup] I dunno about the selling out though in my mind that's why bands get together - to make money. I don't think there is any point in making music that appeals to their generation unless they're going to earn a living out of it in the end, especially when they are in a high position like they seem to be. Most bands who are in it for the kudos don't seem to last long. I suppose there must be a cut off for most bands when they either stick it out and sell millions of albums, or just think they've done what they set out to do, have a bit of fun, sell a few records and get a cult following.

I like some of their stuff, but I like the covers they do of others better.

Check out Rocky Mountain Way if you have not seen it yet.

You were probably thinking of their cover of "Bad Company".

One of the reasons I can't get into some current metal bands is the production, plus, if it is metal and it is on the radio these days it is probably over produced. Too generic for me.

I liked Godsmack on their first two records but then it all sounds the same after that, same sound, same key, same formula.

My heroes are Gene and Ozzy they own everything lol.

Since the 70s i have only really gotten in to a few bands like Zombie he has givin me lots of cool cds and dvds to buy. Godsmack sells me alot of cool stuff too.

So far Five Finger are doin the same givin me quality product to consume. Cant wait for the new cd. I still buy those things

I hate downloads, it is just virtually owning nothing in my eyes. its like they are saying here you go you dont really own anything just pretend ok? You only get to listen or look at it.

Yeah, I'm a CD and vinyl fiend lol! I don't think I've downloaded a single track, well unless a friend sent me a file, or something. I'll give anything a try musically tbh, I've been into everything one time or another - punk, goth, metal, soul, blues...everything over the years, now I just cherry pick what takes me somewhere, usually good, sometimes bad LOL!! Diversity is the name of the game for me, I even gave classical a go. When I say I cherry pick though, the bands I do like are mainstays, others that come along - then cool the more the merrier bro, including these guys! [biggrin]
