Performing Like a Rolling Stone with my 1964 CS J-45 Reissue

Thanks for listening. Regarding the chorus effect, I have mixed feelings on it. Sometimes I use it at gigs, sometimes not. I mix it up sometimes using it sometimes not, just to make it sound different to me at different gigs, which helps me to focus a bit more on the actual sound I'm playing at each gig. At worst, it changes the acoustic sound too much and at best it rounds out the sound.

BTW, all-excuse I double posted the video here, by trying to put one into the Acoustic Performances slot, but forgot to hit reply on that one rather than new post).

Its truly a great guitar to play, plus it looks and sounds great! Is yours the Musicians Friend version which they called the Musicians Friend version (which I think they called the 60s icon reissue or something similar) or the version that Fullers had made (which they called the 1964 CS J-45 Reissue...which is the one I have). Both are very similar...Jeremy Fuller once wrote me what the differences were between the two, which didn't amount to anything significant when it came down to it. Or, is yours from a different source? FYI. Mine was made in 2006. But, when it comes down to it in my book...they're all very much like the original vintage versions only much newer. I compared mine side by side to an original 1965 version and they were REALLY REALLY similar.

QM, mine was made in 2004 -- bought it in my local shop. It came with a certificate signed by Ren Furgeson stating it was part of a special run of 72 guitars that year (states they produced 24 of them in May 2004 which included mine). It's a 1960s Reissue from Gibson's historic collection, whatever that means. It's the guitar in my sig. It looks just like yours. Light as a feather -- resonates incredibly. Don't see many of them around.

Very cool to learn about another run of the reissue model. It sounds like the run yours was from led to the Musicians Friend and Fullers version. I'd describe mine the same as you described yours, light as a feather, resonates...etc. Plus, adding that I really like the guitar's neck and vibe.

Haha not a Dylan guy either. Love his songs but man his vocals were awful. I feel like a knumbskull now BBG thanks lol

No reason to feel that way. As you know there are people out there who obsess about Bob Dylan and the meaning of his songs and I once read in a book how some absolutely believe that when Bob Dylan wrote Like a Rolling Stone he actually was wanting to be asked to be a member of the Rolling Stones so he could rock like them. While there is no actual evidence of that being so, Dylan is on record as claiming he really wanted to be asked to join the Grateful Dead (who he ended up playing with for a spell and recording an album with called Dylan and the Dead.) Years back when Bob Dylan was playing in concert in Chicago one after the Rolling Stones were in concert...it was noted that Bob Dylan played a Rolling Stones song in his concert (can't remember which...might have been something along the lines of Brown Sugar or Its Only Rock & Roll and I like It) while the Stones played Like a Rolling Stone in their concert. So, your citing it as a Stones song is actually true although of course it is truly a Dylan song, but they did perform it...and, I believe a version of them doing can be found on YouTube.
