1987 Gibson ES 335

I purchased this '87 335 earlier this year. Ebony with gold hardware (whats left). A lot of people rave about the 80's 335's especially with the Tim Shaw pickups and now I know why. This is a keeper. Currently has a Callaham ABR-1 installed. Haven't seen a 335 from the 80's that looked like this so thought I would post.

I wouldn't say that 80's guitars were any better than current 335's or other current models.

I have a 1990 335, and a 2013 Midtown Custom that play and sound very close to each other. OTOH I have Les Pauls and other similar semi and fully hollow Gibsons that sound and play VERY differently. I think that each guitar can have unique characteristics.
