duluthdan
Opened the case to find a nice note from Ren Ferguson on top of this guitar. SJ-200 from whatever year, not "vintage". Very nice. Action is ideal (as one might expect) the sound is really really smooth, just like I remember from Bozeman. Its strung with John Pearse Mediums - apparently the previous owner's favorite for this guitar. No strap button, no pickup - just a straight up helluva guitar! Enjoy ! GuitarLight
Quite a catch! And one of the most beautiful of all Gibson models! Looking at a fine Gibson like this one, is surely eye candy to anyone who loves fine acoustic guitars! I can just tell it must sound brilliant, clear, and rich! Enjoy it! BluesKing777
Congratulations Dan! That is 'Travellin' First Class' and worth the wait. Maybe leave it in it's case until the Tooth Fairy mixture wears off, in case you decide to draw pics on the top....or tune it to OpenB... BluesKing777. duluthdan
Tomorrow I'll go over the details - pins, saddle, strings etc. I think there are a couple of surprises.
PickitPaul
That serial number looks to be within the first 3 months of 2002. Beautiful Sound sample or video when you can. I think this guitar has got to be the best get of the year! Nice of Ren to add a note. How lucky to have a hand picked big SJ200 by the man himself, wow. How did Ren select it, one day someone told him about it, and he got it off the line or what? Hope tooth is better....

EuroAussie
Looks fantastic Dan, really glad you got her in the end ! Loved the Gibson Super Jumbos from that time with their standard tulips, black coloured pickguard and the maple has a real flame on it. My 2001 J-150 has all those features also. Love it ! bobouz
Well now that is truly special and beautiful. My J45 Rosewood is from 2002 as well, and has a rather stellar tone. Must have had some especially good wood stored up around the shop that year!
