swampash
I've just bought an iPad mini. I'm looking for a good video converter to convert my AVIs and MKV files into the MP4 format that the iPad needs to play them. The problem is I've tried a few and they make the picture quality worse. I'm using a pc running Windows 7. Any help is appreciated.
RaysEpiphone
So is IMovie on the IPad? I'm still using a Mac Pro from 2007 so I don't have any of the newer generation Mac stuff so I may not be the best person to ask but there are lots of Mac groups on the web, try a Google search for some Mac user forum groups and ask there. daveg
Consider PICTURES TO EXE. It is a Slide Show Software which will allow mixing of Video and Stills and contains its own Converter. You can Crop, Trim, Split, Combine etc etc in the software and output to an iPad specific format MP4. I use it on a daily basis. It is not free but it WORKS! You can try it out for free and there is a forum for help etc. www.wnsoft.com DG

swampash
Handbrake, the choice of web professionals every where. Thanks! And this is the one I've gone with. My Home PC is a POS and was running hot and shutting itself down with Handbrake. I installed it on my work laptop instead which is top of the line and it's working like a charm. It converts all of my movie files to MP4 but also compresses them to a smaller size without a loss in picture or sound quality. Result!
