Hear the difference ?

Two howitzers. Real nice guitars. I thought the "reissue" had a bit better bass (most of the time) and the meds were strong too. The 2nd guitar seemed to be stronger on the highs. I think some of this had to do with the way he was playing each guitar. For strictly fingerpicking, I'd probably go with the 2nd guitar. To actually choose between these two guitars would be pretty tough. Nice stuff.

MP..

That guy is almost dumb founded & mezmerized playing that first one.

Driven to mania.

The differences on a base level are subtile but in that grey area we are all after which makes them special or not, that first one has it.

I recognize that sound & the mania .

That first one is special and at $1k more is well worth it.

Oh where art thou spare money..

I'm sure all things eqaul from there.. mic placement, mics, recording procedure

I do also think the first one has a better defined "bottom" end and projects more of the mids.

The second one is a bit brighter.

Both sound GREAT!

Someday,,, -- I will have one,, oh yes...

I thought the first one projected a deeper, more focased sound especially when strummed. The second one, when strummed seemed to show how independent the six strings were (maybe slight intonation problems in the higher strings) and seemed to be higher sound. Both sounded like real good guitars but I'd have to hear them in person to favor one over the other. By the way, excellant playing! [thumbup]

I was so dazzled by Greg's chops, almost couldn't hear the forest for the trees.

A couple of questions about how things were mic'ed up: Anyone recognize the mic in front of the '200's? Also- there's a rectangular something off from the lower bout. A pzm?...and the dry one of the bunch, the J-45 makes do with what mic.. K&K mini? Doubt there's any mixing of the '45's onboard electronics(?) Thx.

I'm really surprised that Greg was featured in these clips. He's been a Fender player and endorser for as long as I can remember. Unbelievable player as shown in these clips.

Remember him doing great videos on how to use the Fender Cyber series Amps.
