drathbun
This is my '68 Yamaha FG150 and not a Gibson but I thought people might like to hear it. The guitar plays so easy and sounds very "boxy" which lends itself IMO to this style of blues. Hey Hey and here is me playin' the old thing (my wife calls it the "hippie guitar")
EuroAussie
Good stuff Doug, this is definitely a must learn track for me, the Yammie sounds spot on !
drathbun
Thank EA. I love this little guitar. I suppose because it has so much MOJO and so much history. I bought it for $60 about 10 years ago. It was in rough shape, needing a neck reset and refret. I reset the neck, leveled the fingerboard, reshaped the neck profile, refinished the neck and did a refret myself while taking a luthier course through the summer. Now it plays and sounds great and I don't worry about it getting a ding or being close to the campfire in the summer! Here I'm scraping the old glue residue before re installing the pickguard while waiting for the neck joint to dry.

drathbun
Thanks so much! The beauty of having such contrasting guitars is, when you play one for an extended period, say the Yamaha, and then switch to the J200, it makes you appreciate the unique character of the guitar. I'm always struck by the rich, throaty resonance of the J200 after having played the Yamaha for a week.

livemusic
Is that one track? How are you doing the tapping. I think everything sounds awesome, guitar, playing and vocal. I gotta learn that song, too! I love me some acoustic blues. Is that standard tuning?

I gotta learn that song, too! I love me some acoustic blues. Is that standard tuning? Thanks livemusic! It is standard tuning and I did the main track and then went back and added two more; one is just me tapping on the top of the guitar and the other is playing the low E and A string rhythm on the same guitar. When I get back from holidays I have to re-record this as I just noticed strings 1 and 2 were out of tune flat!
