Cobra Burst MV Review

I think it actually looks better in the vid than the stills I've seen of it. Looks bubbly from a distance in the pics. Probably looks better up close than in pics (but is that saying much?) . Not wild on it but nice to see other burst/finish options are on the go.

The Denver GC had three guitars in that finish. A J-45, a Hummingbird Pro, and also a Songwriter Deluxe. My take on the finish is that it was really nice looking. I had the pleasure of seeing them all together and found all three to really consistent in color but more more brown than in the MV video demo.

On top of that they had a new J-35. I was really glad I dropped in because that was about 3 hours of cheap entertainment. The setups on all four were really good to go. Gibson has a great showing there in the back area of the acoustic room.

My impression was that the Hummingbird Pro was the one of those four that I would have bought if they took monopoly money. Haaha. But the finish didn't bother me at all. That said, I thought it I read it was called Cocoaburst. I must have drunk on the fumes of so many instruments, which is totally possible. [confused]

Sounds real good to my ears. I typically don't like that dark of a finish, but I would like to see one in-person. Just don't like black guitars, but this dark burst is pretty interesting. It might not be as dark as some parts appear on the video.. I'd like to see the details of the wood in daylight.
