wonderful remark Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I don't know if it was just me, But when I bought my J45, a pick came with the guitar. It is black and teardrop shaped, and Gibson acoustic is imprinted. and I really like these picks! Do you guys know where to get them??
ajsc Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Mine was tortes shell. I like it too. I called about getting more. They sent me about 20 of them.
Jayla Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Got one of those too (one of the black ones) but haven't used it. I like those ol' Fender picks. Mediums. Aaahhhhh.......
guitarstrummer Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I don't believe you can buy the Gibson "acoustic" picks anywhere. The pick that is included with your new acoustic guitar is the pick that was actually used during the final inspection of your guitar. You can buy the regular Gibson picks through most guitar stores, but they won't have "acoustic" printed on them.

guitarstrummer Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 The ones that you can buy have "Gibson Pure" printed on them. They come in a couple different thicknesses and have either "H" or "M" printed on them. I just compared a "M" (medium) to the "Gibson Acoustic" pick and they look and feel the same to me. They are also the same shape. Most people I know put the original one (Gibson Acoustic) aside and save it, since that was the first pick to ever touch your guitar.

powerpopper Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 The pick that is included with your new acoustic guitar is the pick that was actually used during the final inspection of your guitar. That is the coolest thing ever. Didn't know that.
Jinder Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I got a bunch of the mediums as part of my band's endorsement deal. They are great picks, I use the Mediums.
ballcorner Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 My AJ came with a white pick and black lettering. I keep it with the documents for the instrument and have never tried it.
double0blues Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 My favorite is the one with the Gibson Montana logo - I only have a few of those - wish I had gotten more back when they were making them... I haven't seen a couple of the styles mentioned - this a scan of the four different ones I have...
