For those of you who may not know, when you have an SG plugged in and the cord gets yanked, causing a huge crack in the finish and wood.

This happened to my beloved '66 reissue G-400 :) it was my first decent guitar and i want to know how much it would cost to get it fixed.

Much appreciated

My guess is that it'll depend on who you take it to for repair, but I think it should be reasonable. They fix cracked necks for a decent price, so why not an SG body. Take it to a credible luthier. It's the only way to get it done right and he can tell you the $cost. Get a snapjack cable or route you regular cable between your strap and the body of the SG so it doesn't happen again.

Thanks i think i know just the guy but as far as the strap thing i do that already when i'm standing and playing but what happened was i was sitting down and playing and i had my foot on the cord without realizing it and when i stood up it yanked and presto. Jackwhack.

it's gonna be hard to fix. most broken neck and other crack repairs you see are on a nitro finish. you can patch those up. your epi has a poly finish and can't be done as easily. it generally requires an entire refin...... or a really ugly patch job. you just can't blend poly.
