simont Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I was wondering if anyone knows how we create and save our own custom altered tunings and if we can save our custom altered tunings to all 18 tuning preset positions? thanks
Tronical Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Custom altered tuning This function allows you to save any tuning to a preset position. Preset positions are - LED E - LED A - LED D - LED G - LED B - LED e When the preset LED and the matrix is shining blue, you are in the blue bank, when it is shining green, you are in green bank, etc. There are 3 bank colors (blue, green, red) which results in 18 preset positions. You can modify each of the 18 preset positions, whereas the preset position for standard tuning (EADGBe) can not be modified (LED-Peg). Lets do a custom altered tuning! Tune all strings to your desired pitch, by turning the tuning pegs manually. When you feel comfortable with your tuning pull MCK to activate Powertune. Go to blue bank and rotate MCK clockwise all the way down, LED-Peg is shining blue. Press Enter for 2 seconds to activate Custom Altered Tuning Mode. When activated LED-Peg is shining light blue and the six string LEDs (E, A, D, G, B, e) are shining red. Now strum ONE string, for example the E string. When LED-E is shining green the frequency was detected. Proceed with the next string, remember strum only ONE string. When all six string LEDs are shining green LED-Peg starts blinking light blue. Now you can select the preset position where your custom altered tuning is saved. If you choose a preset from blue bank just rotate to your desired position and press Enter. If you want to save your custom altered tuning to a different bank color, rotate MCK counterclockwise all the way down and press Enter until your desired bank color is shown. Rotate MCK to desired preset and press Enter to store. When your tuning was saved successfully all string LEDs are flashing four times. Remarks When you store a custom altered tuning to a preset, the previous tuning on this preset will be erased and the new tuning is saved. Tronical You play. We tune.

What does "all the way down" mean in the sentence.... "rotate MCK counterclockwise all the way down" ?
simont Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 CCW...as far as it will go. ah cool. thanks. i was thinking the MCK just kept turning.
elantric Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 With the MCK in the "up" position, there are eleven distinct "detent" click positions. More details on my post midway down here: http://forums.gibson.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=10549&p=2
