btoth76
...I'm off to buy a fender. Jesus Christ in the Heavens above! Don't do that! :o Seriously! The U.S.A. alone is a huge market. It's a big enough task to satisfy the local demand... Also, that was a limited run guitar. Heads up! Cheers... Bence

Im off to buy a fender. Take care, TLC, Fender also released and keeps on releasing limited series guitars, and there might be some you won't get one of, too. If it is the Dirty Fingers pickups which attract you, you could buy a Studio and replace its 490R and 498T HBs with DFs.

TLC
Im waiting for the shop i ordered it through to get a reply from gibson., they haven't heard anything from gibson but they do have official order confirmation of the 4 they ordered. So if gibson have confirmed this shop will get 4 , how can they then pull the plug on the production . All i want to know is why they cancelled the production. btoth76
Hello! It's like this: Gibson decides to make a limited run guitar in quantity of - let's say - 100 pieces. Then people start to pre-order them at different dealers all around the world. As it is usual, the total amount of pre-orders far exceed the planned quantity. That's how it was with the first run of 50s Tribute Studios. 150 pieces of each color were made, hundreds of pre-orders were cancelled. I've ordered mine in Budapest, just a few days after it's got announced, and after long 8 months (!) of waiting I received it. Mine was made just a month before they stopped the production of that model. I was lucky. That's why they came up with all those variations of the Tribute Studios. It is what it is with limited runs. That's they charm. I wish You will be luckier (quicker) next time. ;) Cheers... Bence

btoth76
Hello Capmaster! Nevermind! It's not easy to follow Gibson's product ranges. It's got out of control... Cheers... Bence

Even, toilet papers are made in limited quantities within space-time. :) In Gibson's world, there are regular run models, which are in continous production, like a Standard, a Traditional, or a Studio, and there are the specifically limited run models, like the Governmental series were. btoth76
Not so sure they are still making the Traditional. As long as their site is correct they still: http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Traditional.aspx :D Cheers... capmaster
The Traditional 2013 is more traditional than ever and is something like the true LP Standard to me with its fully massive body. It's not a wonder that the Traditional 2013 tops the Gibson instruments popularity list. IMHO they should offer some more "traditional" finishes like the Heritage Cherry Sunburst I decided to go with, and they should provide a pickguard but leave it to the customer if she/he wants to drill the holes. I would have not...
Aster1
Are all the Gov. Models signed by the Fish & Wildlife officers who where ordered to take the stuff at gun point? They should be IMHO. "Seized by: Harold Treehugger, F&W Agent" or something like that. Aster
badbluesplayer
The Tantrum Series is still available through a limited number of dealers. This run cost Gibson lots of money and didn't sell, but I think it will help Henry push through the anger once and for all. It's a journey. If one of my buildings collapses, I'm going to crawl under a rock before I blame gravity.

cjsinla
Yeah, the LP Trad. is still in production. I responded to you on another thread about two or three weeks ago that the webmaster had made an error by printing "out of production" on the Trad. webpage. When I saw it, I freaked out and called Gibson and they assured me all is fine, nothing to worry about and offered other comforting words as well. I must say that I feel so much better about the whole situation because, I really plan to buy a Lefty LP Trad. in Light Burst near the end of this year. They really are nice, thanks for the update.
