ponty
That monster is a reproduction of a Prairie State guitar made by the Larson brother. Here is an original. Also, check this site. www.larsonbros.de/

rar
Playing it was an interesting experience, but it's not exactly a great sounding guitar. What could be more natural than a steel string guitar with steel pipe bracing? Cool, yes, but I doubt Stevie will be getting one for Mighty Fine Guitars. -- Bob R
E-minor7
When the name Larson is mentioned, I presume it is Gary Larson. http://www.google.dk...fOJJ8ejPcilgfAL Jumbo, , , ?! Mammoth is more like it. . .

billy_v
I remember George Gruhn writing a column on the original years ago. He wrote that it sounded somewhat like a harpsichord! Scott Chinery owned the original. It's odd to me that many people equate a larger body with bigger bass; there IS a point of diminishing returns, as any given set of strings, tuned to any particular pitch, can only exert their maximum tension on the guitar's top, and no more. MissouriPicker
Is that one of the steel bracings running by the soundhole?. Looks like a picture taken underneath our kitchen sink........It needs some bling on it. Maybe a huge Hummingbird style pick guard, but with a Pterodactyl replacing the bird.
